Counselling & Wellbeing Support

Living with PMDD can affect many areas of your life, from your physical and emotional wellbeing to your relationships, work, routines and sense of self. Our individual counselling and wellbeing support provides a safe space to explore the challenges you are experiencing and identify practical ways to support yourself.

Our approach is informed by Te Whare Tapa Whā, recognising that wellbeing is holistic and that our physical, emotional, social, spiritual and environmental worlds are interconnected.

This free-of-charge support package generally includes 4–6 individual 60-minute counselling sessions. Together with your counsellor, you will explore what is happening for you now, identify what you need support with, and develop strategies and resources that are relevant to your life. Throughout the sessions, you will build your own PMDD Wellbeing Toolkit. This may include coping strategies, wellbeing practices, support networks, useful resources and a personalised plan for navigating difficult periods.

The aim is for you to finish the programme with a better understanding of your own experience of PMDD and a practical set of tools you can continue to use beyond your counselling sessions. PMDD may be a long-term part of life, but you do not have to navigate it without support.
